  • 23-06-2017 - Having fun with Healthy Living

The children have thoroughly enjoyed doing something a little bit different this week while we have been looking at ‘Healthy Living’.

We rounded off the week with our healthy picnic lunch on the field and everybody loved showing off all the healthy things they had brought with them. Thank you, parents, for your huge support with this!

Finally, we spent the afternoon taking part in different sports and games before summing up the week with an assembly to share everything we have learnt.

Well done everybody for your enthusiasm to this week and a huge thank you to Miss Gibbons and Mrs Humphrey who have gone above and beyond to organise it!

  • 23-06-2017 - Children's Choir Opportunity

As you are aware, Regis Manor visit Milton Parish Church for special events such as Easter and Christmas where the children sing relevant songs and hymns. Reverend Rogers has 'on more than one occasion [...] been favourably impressed by the children's ability to carry the service -and even to do so- unaccompanied.'

As such, Reverend Rogers and the Musical Director would like to expand their music programme and start to build a children's choir that will be prepared to sing on selected Sundays, weddings, christenings and other pastoral services.

The church is proposing two dates for anybody who is interested to go along for a taster of what church singing is like:

    Thursday 16th July 7pm

    Thursday 14th September 7pm

If you are at all interested in becoming one of the first members of the local children's choir do pop along to one of the rehearsals!

  • 23-06-2017 - Super Sports Stars!

As usual, the summer term brings out the athletes and we have some fantastic sporting news to share!

First up we had the infant Agility competition. Held at Tunstall C of E school, ten Year 2 children had to compete in ten activities that focus on core physical skills including coordination, balance and agility, for example: speed bounce, one footed balance, chest push, bowling, throwing and standing long jump. They were scored on each event which then generated a team score and out of ten competing teams, Regis Manor came first!

Next, our returning champion gymnasts attended the finals where the winning teams from all over Kent came to battle it out. There was some tough competition and the standard was incredibly high but our team held their own and gave an amazing performance. The results are not in yet but we’ll keep you posted!

Finally, we had mixed Year 5/6 teams from ten schools across Sheppey and Sittingbourne to take part in an athletics competition at Oasis Academy. The children took part in track and field events such as high jump, long jump shot put and javelin with ‘proper’ athletics equipment. Each event was scored individually and we had a number of winners and placings across the event including two 3rd, four 2nd and two 1st places!

A huge well done to our athletes for not only taking part in these events but doing so well!

  • 23-06-2017 - Terrific Treasure!

Regis Manor has been incredibly lucky and has received a very special delivery; Treasure Boxes!

Each bulging box has been stuffed with new and exciting books for each class to enjoy and once they have read them, can be passed to other classes to spread the enjoyment across the school.

The children have been so pleased with their new books, 3H even made a lovely card to show their appreciation.

We’re glad you’re enjoying them so much- we can’t wait to hear about your favourites!
